The park last night was darker than normal, the bright street lights seemed to be dimmed. As if they were as tired as my ass was. My work out partner had just left after our hour-long gossip while walking session but I was still feeling a need to run. My muscles were stiff and needed to be stretched although, my head told me to go home, shower and crawl into bed but my body wanted to move.
Picking up the pace, I began to jog on the cement sidewalk. I began to notice just how dark things were when I realized there weren’t any people around anymore. No one playing on the play structure, no one walking their pets. The park felt deserted and I felt alone. Those tiny hairs on the back of my neck told me I needed to go home, but I never listen to what’s good for me.
